VA Atlantic Kickball - Summer 2017 - Playoffs

In case you didn't know, we scheduled a solar eclipse for the playoffs this past Monday. That's just what we do for something like the inaugural Monday night summer season playoffs in the VA Atlantic league!

The playoffs are over and UNITY has topped off their regular season dominance with a championship win.

The end of season party is at Bucketheads on Friday 25-Aug (TODAY!). The festivities start at 6 PM, we'll have live music, a keg, a well drink tab, tacos, and cake. Please take the time to RSVP on our Facebook event so we can get a good headcount.

Game Recaps

• Round One
• (1) UNITY had a BYE in the first round.
• (2) Bed Bath & Your Mom cruised through their opening match game against the (7) Pucking Pandas 16-0.
• In the only upset of the playoffs (6) Bed Bath & Your Stepmom defeated (3) Kicks R 4 Kidz.
• (4) Fusion defeated (5) Ball Smashers 5-2 to advance to the semi-finals.
• Semi-Finals
• (1) UNITY kept trickling in runs in the first four inning to stake a solid lead and then blew it open in the fifth inning to defeat (4) Fusion 16-1.
• (2) Bed Bath & Your Mom posted their second shutout of the night against Bed Bath & Your Stepmom in a 16-0.
• Finals
• The finals started with the two best teams from the regular season and ended with (1) UNITY defeating (2) Bed Bath & Your Mom 7-3.

Social Events

• Bar Attendance
  UNITY was the only team with 10 or more players at the bar while every other team except Smashers had 5 or more show up.
  
  
• Weekly Challenge - Post Playoff Team Photo
  BBYM, BBYS, Fusion, and UNITY all submitted their post game team photos and I can't pick just one for a winner so they all tie. Although, whoever took the BBYM and BBYS photos needs a better camera for night pictures!
  
  
• League Support
  BBYM, Pandas, and UNITY all snagged their field breakdown points in between playoff games.

UNITY finishes their third week in first place but the season social crown goes to Fusion who finished a narrow three points ahead of UNITY for the season! Fusion managed the season win with solid participation in theme weeks while crushing bar attendance and bar games.
