Bar Buzz Week 11

"No driving, no sleeping. Live it up like it’s the weekend
When the DJ play the right song. Gonna drink, gonna party all night long"

Well, well, well... The time has come and we can see it: the end of the season just off in the horizon and we are wasting no time getting in all the partying that we can before we part ways for a few (brief) weeks. Wednesday was a wild one... let's see how those pounders stack up.

#13 Just For Kicks: We're not really sure what happened to a team that was emerging as one of our strong mid ranking competitors. Perhaps they are resting up for "serious kickball" and wins on the field as we enter the home stretch leading to the tournament.

#12 Moose Knuckles: Usually you can't miss Moose Knuckles, but with such a poor showing this week we're cautious to say that they were even there.

#11 Off in the Corner: Our Caution Orange friends were back this week. And although their showing wasn't  up to the standards we know they can reach, we're still hopeful that OitC can comeback to be the only team to clinch the Belt for a third time. Afterall, you never know when someone's going to pop up and rally Off in the Corner.
#10 Foul Balls: We're not so sure when the Foulies came into their own Foul Territory with the Bar Buzz. But one thing's for sure, it's just not the same without them.

#9 Vicious and Delicious: Although they VD still has some presence at the bar, they've been slacking lately.  Are they too falling victim to this alleged ideal that you can't win at the bar and on the field? Pfffft.

#8 Jiminy Kick-Its: JKI was back in action this week, bringing in points in participation, mingling and longevity. Will they be the sleeper team that swoops in to grab the belt at the very bitter end?

#7  New Kickheads on the Block: NKOTB is still Hanging Tough, and there's no surprise in that. But they've been pretty tame lately. Which makes us wonder... What sort of tricks will Hassell and Co. come up with this week in an attempt to get that belt one last time?

#6 Saved by the Balls: The Balls had a strong showing early in the week with the Hund pack dutifully leading the pack. This is probably their best showing to date and there' still time for the Balls to find their place in the top seed.

#5 5 O'Clockers: There's something that always seems right about the 5 O'Clockers taking the fifth seat in our rankings. (I not a very organized, meticulous or type A person but this symbiotic relationship  between numbers makes me oddly content) But beyond their matching numbers, the Clockers just seem to belong in the top five.

How could you not love this face?

#4 Chubby Gangsters &  Chicken Tetrazzini: (I swear I didn't do this on purpose.) These two teams are paired together more often than Oprah and Gayle King. But it's no surprised given their ability to play hard... and even harder when their companions are around. CT gave a good showing flaunting the belt, and the BDB's kept their team going with the help of everyone's favorite ginger, Emily Cook.

#3 Jagernauts &  Battlestar Ballsacktica: The surprising twist here is not so much that these two were paired together in the scoring or that the Ballsacks have finally hang with the party vetrans, but rather that the Springa's finally managed to pull ahead of their 'Naut friends and take a 2nd place lead.

#2 Rumspringa: Can the 'Springas carry their momentum to our final week and emerge as champs? Such a feat would put them back on the map as league party animals - a title that they've always managed to squeak by with.

The Clockers look pained, the VIPS barely conscious... it's 12:59am, do you know where your kickballers are?
Hanging with the Week 11 Champs!
#1 Emperors Club: Well, it took nothing short of nudity (no, I'm not kidding....there was nudity) but the VIPs finally managed to cinch the top spot and claim the belt as their own. What was that thought process from earlier this season... that often the worst nights on the field are the best nights at the bar? The club seemed to prove this theory this week, losing a key game to the Gangsters. In fact, we've yet to have one team claim both the Bar Buzz Belt and top seed in the league.
Well those VIPs can't seem to hold their beers, but this week they can hold the Belt instead!
Well that sums up Week 11 for us... only one more belt up for grabs. Does your team have what it takes to take it? Come out tonight to find out! And as always, don't forget to celebrate WAKA Wednesdays responsibly.
Until Next Time - Bottom's Up!
