What a weekend! I am absolutely blown away by the spirit and generosity of the Virginia kickball community. The kickball was the "what" but cancer was the "why" and together we raised a total of $16,000 for The Sentara Foundation!!! This money will directly support local cancer patients in their fight against this terrible disease.
I got a lot of people to thank and recognize (and of course some plugs, naturally) so I'll try to be as brief as possible.
First of all, congratulations to BREASTIGE, for taking home the Kim Merritt Cup! They battled a tough single elimination field and the elements to earn the championship! Well done!
We had several teams go above and beyond to do additional fundraising. Whether it was swag, jello shots, food, or raffles these teams found fun and creative ways to boost our total and make a bigger impact. Let's recognize the top fundraisers:

- Thank you to everyone who offered and lent a hand throughout the day. No matter how big or small the task was, we had no shortage of players willing to help and that all added up.
- Last but certainly not least, thank you to all of our team captains. The backbone of any successful league or event is the captains and we couldn't have asked for a better batch this year. If you haven't already done so, be sure to DM your captain and tell them thank you for being awesome!!
There is absolutely no doubt that I'm forgetting someone. And if I have, please charge it to the head and not the heart. I'm just overwhelmed and appreciative of all of the support this weekend!

- January Sports Leagues are now open! We have Winter kickball leagues in Hampton, Virginia Beach and Richmond. open for registration now at early bird prices. If you want to try a different activity other than kickball (weird, yeah, I know) than CLUBWAKA also offers indoor volleyball, bowling, and dodgeball leagues as well.
